Because so many people like to play with mods, many also like to make mods. Not to be mean, but most people are not very good at making mods that are playable. Some people who make mods are very good at it because they have a lot of time to practice making mods for the people who play them. Because there are so many mods, almost all mod loaders will have a way to search for them to make it easier to find them.
The top ten most common mods from CurseForge are “Just Enough Items, Mouse Tweaks, JourneyMap, BookShelf, AppleSkin, Controlling, Clumps, Placebo, AutoRegLib and Mantel”. The top ten mods on Modrinth are “Sodium, Iris Shaders, Mod Menu, Lithium, Sodium Extra, Not Enough Animation, Dynamic FPS, Zoomify, LampDynamicLights, Sound Physics Remastered.
If you want to play mods with your friends, then you are going to have to have a server, and for the mods to work, you will have to add the mods to the server as well as your account. When adding mods to a server, you will have to add dependencies, which will make the mods you add work as they are supposed to, but most mods will not need dependencies.
If you are not using a mod loader that doesn’t have a way to search for mods then you will need to download them off from there website, then you will need to find your Minecraft folder, then you need to make a new folder in the Minecraft folder then rename it to whatever, [but most people just call it mod] then add the mod that you downloaded in to the folder and then you can play with the mod you added.
I think that mods are a good thing that can be fun, but sometimes the mods are not the best thing, but if you want to play with mods, then you are allowed to if you really want. If you want my recommendation, then I think you should play with mods, and if you want a good mod loader, I would suggest Modrinth because you can use almost all mods, and it makes it easy to add mods and play them whenever you want. But if you don’t like Modrinth, then another good mod loader is CursedForge for the same reasons, but Modrinth is better, I think.
