The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Disclaimer: I recommend reading my first article about Breath of the Wild for this to make any sense.

This game is a sequel to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it is very different. You don’t have the Sheikah technology, and the story is different from Breath of the Wild. You have Zonai technology instead of Shiekah technology, along with new abilities and mechanics. Instead of having the Sheikah Slate with all its abilities, which are Cryonis, Stasis, Magensis and remote bombs, Link now has Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend, Recall and Autobuild. The ability Ultrahand allows you to move anything, not just metal, unlike magnesis in Botw (Breath of the Wild), and you can fuse things together. The ability Fuse makes it so you can fuse anything to your shield, sword or arrows to increase the damage of the effects it gives. Ascend allows you to ascend through solid objects if the object has a flat surface.  Recall allows you to make an object move backwards in time. Autobuild happens when you build something and automatically saves it in + autobuild so that you can automatically build it later.. Now, if you want to 100% Totk( Tears of the Kingdom), it will take around 400 hours. The reason why it would take so long is that the map is far bigger than the Botw map, with it not only having the ground but also the depths and the sky.

In a different story, there is a new race, the Zonai, a creature that the Hylians thought was once a god. Although they have all died, only 2 of them have become ghosts: one named Rauru, who was the first king of Hyrule, and the other was Rauru’s big sister, Mineru, one of the six sages. She can put her spirit into any technology and control it. Rauru wasn’t king by himself; he was married to a Hylian, whose name was Sonia, one of the six sages. Now let’s go forward in time. After Link defeated Ganon, there was some strange stuff happening under the castle. People were getting sick when they went under the castle, so Link and Zelda decided to investigate. First, they found statues and pictures of the zonai. They travelled further down to find a man with an arm on his chest. That man was Ganondorf. Then the arm fell off and dropped a stone, which Zelda picked up. Suddenly, Ganondorf awakens and proceeds to attack Zelda, but Link jumps in front of Zelda, losing his arm. All of a sudden, the floor starts to break, and Zelda falls. Link tries to grab her, but fails., Then, suddenly, Zelda glows and disappears while Link is carried by the arm that was on Ganondorf’s chest. Then Link wakes up again with only his shorts on. While he was there, he met the first king of Hyrule, Rauru, who gave Link a new arm, Rauru’s arm. The arm has the abilities Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend, and Autobuild. While Link is trying to get off Great Sky Island. Zelda went back 10,000 years to when Hyrule was first founded. And that is where Zelda meets Rauru and Sonia. While Zelda was there, she met Ganondorf, a man who lived in Gerudo. Even though men aren’t allowed in Gerudo town. One is born every 100 years. Zelda felt like she knew Ganondorf, so she warned Rauru. Later, Sonia was killed by Ganondorf, and the Demon King was born. But he sought more power, but Rauru decided to do something, so he gathered up the best champions in Hyrule. And gave them the secret stones. While they were preparing for battle, Zelda warned Rauru about what had happened in the future, but Rauru knew what Zelda meant. He knew what he had to do. After Rauru trapped Ganondorf under the castle, Zelda tried to find a way to get back to the present, but she found the Master Sword. (which is destroyed) Once she picked it up, it told her that the link was okay, then she realised that she had to empower the master sword.  She then remembered what Mineru said, “to become a dragon, you have to lose yourself” Zelda thought there was another way to power the master sword and to get to the present, but there was only one way. To become an immortal dragon, so she did. While that was happening,

Link tried to get used to his new powers and arm, but also realised everything in Hyrule is different. The Sheikah technology was gone, and there are a lot of weird things, like mud at Zora domain, a sand storm at Gerudo region, a blizzard at Rito village and weird rock food at Death Mountain. Turns out this is Ganondorf’s doing. And Link was able to fix it with the new champion, Tulin, Sidon, Riju and Yunobo with their new abilities. And turns out Mineru is alive, she put her spirit in her greatest invention. And not only do you have a new map that is way bigger, but all the stuff from BOTW DLC is put into TOTK. The new mechanics are a throwing system and skydiving, but let’s talk more about the Sages. Each of them is different, and some have new abilities. Yunobo in Breath of the Wild has Daurk protection because he a descended of Daurk but for some reason in totk, he forget the power and get a new one which he just a flaming bowling ball although the rest of the Sages abilities is amazing, like riju abilities which is when you shoot a arrow, it summon a thunderbolt, Sidon abilities is kinda like daurk protection but like water and it doesn’t last forever, Tulin abilities is like revail but it sideways. Now let’s talk about the boss fight, unlike Botw, where it is super easy, and once the bosses have half health, all you really have to do is wait, then shoot at a certain spot to kill the boss. These bosses are hard; you have some of your max health taken away, and you have to fight a raid of enemies, then you have to fight Ganon, and then Ganon with a much larger health than you have to fight the dragon form of Ganon. But the story is amazing. At the start of the story Zelda disappear to 10,000 year in the past where she met rauru but when Rauru sacrifices himself, Zelda had to get back to the present and the only way to do it is to become a dragon but when Mineru told her she also said to become a dragon, you must lose yourself, so Zelda knew what she had to do. Well, this game is really good and takes a long time to 100%. This game is a 10/10, would play again, and with the Nintendo Switch 2  out, the game is way better with better graphics and adds Zelda notes, which changes the way of the game. This app can be found in the Nintendo app, which gives GPS to find items, and memory, which adds more story item trading, so you can trade items with other people. Auto build sharing is the same thing as builds and daily bonuses, which you can get at a certain point in the game, which wraps up this article.
