Nomifactory CEu (Community Edition unofficial), better known as Nomifactory, is a Minecraft modpack about becoming a deity through hard, cold science fiction & nonfiction. (Wow, I’m making an article on something that ISN’T Roblox!).
But how does Nomifactory work, you may ask? Well, the main goal of the modpack is to achieve the CREATIVE CHEST
, and this isn’t such an easy task. Nomifactory is inspired by Gregtech, which is inspired by Industrialcraft, which is inspired by the Factory-based game genre (I assume) and, obviously, Nomifactory involves you automating, creating, and manipulating machines, mainly chemistry-oriented. The original Industrialcraft involves 3 tiers, but Nomifactory has TEN, each tier more complex and maintenance-costly than the last. The voltages are as follows: ULV, LV, MV, HV, EV, IV, LuV, ZPM, UV, UHV, each with its respective metal/alloy you need to create for most of the tiers’ machines. (Couldn’t fit in ULV, but it’s Wrought iron).

The modpack also contains a questbook (like all good modpacks) that helps you and tells you where and what to do, a quick rundown of the main goal of each chapter:
– Genesis – First power generation
– Beginning – LV to MV
– Simulating resources – Using the simulation chamber to gain resources
– Matter-Energy – Using the AE2 mod
– Early game – MV to HV
– Into the microverse – Bit of microverse progression & getting larger crafting tables
– Mid game – HV to EV
– Late game – EV to IV & LuV
– Fusion & Research – Fusion reactors and giant megastructures to research stuff
– End game – Get every ore & OP item in the modpack to create the CREATIVE CHEST
– Progressing lines – idk what this is for, but it’s little chains of progress
– Progression – Documents your progression
And the amount of micro-crafting you have to do for any quest after LV is MASSIVE, expect to be running back and forth again and again getting materials and crafting and getting materials, slowly driving you to the brink of insanity. When you are insane, you’d know by trying to search for other recipes that let you make more than one of whatever you’re trying to make.
Let’s move on to another Nomifactory topic, bases! Bases can come in many shapes or forms, such as those on top of abandoned buildings (assuming you’ve created a lost cities world), those in the open, those in space, and those that are underground complexes. Each type has two key variables: compactness and freedom. You’re going to want a somewhat compact base. Hence, your machines aren’t tens or hundreds of blocks away from one another, but also large and spacious enough to be able to roam freely!
But you must also care for your bases, or they may just EXPLODE. Each tier risks your machines (if not cared for properly) with a larger and more impactful explosion, ULV being a simple fire, and the higher tiers possibly large enough to explode a 100×100 radius, incinerating ANYTHING in its range. This also comes with the chance of a chain reaction; the explosion of some components of a larger machine could cause IT to explode, enacting a butterfly effect right in front of your most likely teary eyes!
So, that’s what I think about it! A painfully agonising game for those who have more free time than the sun’s lifetime! And if you DO enjoy this game, consider trying Gregtech New Horizons or TerrafirmaGreg! Have fun… gregging… i guess! ^v^
