Y.O.M.I Hustle is a tactical, turn-based combat game created by Ivy Sly, released on November 11th, 2022; the game is available on Steam Your Only Move Is HUSTLE on Steam and a website called Itch.io Your Only Move Is HUSTLE (Open Beta Version) by ivysly.

Y.O.M.I Hustle also has fast-paced combats and tactical techniques.

The main objective of the game is to kill your opponent and finish the match with three different characters. In Single-player, you choose a movement, attack, special or defensive for you and your opponent.

Multiplayer has turn-based strategies where, in a match, you might not know what your opponents would do, so you have to try to predict their movement, counter their attack and plan ahead throughout the fight. When selecting an action, you and your opponent will have a timer.

In Multiplayer, you can join a public room or host it and change the ‘Dojo’ location. If you’re wondering what’s next, you can submit the selected action and end your turn by pressing ‘Lock In’.

One of your actions might be a range move, and you will be given “Direction” on where to aim.

Tip: There is a chance you might get ‘Super’ once you end your turn.

“DI” is for you to adjust the angle and speed of the action; if you’re knocked back next time by the opponent, then you get hit. “Undo” is to resimulate the match until the previous turn, and “Flip” is to perform your action backwards.

An example for Flip: if you’re trying to perform an action on the enemy, but you’re facing the other way, you can press Flip to turn around.

“Free” uses one charge of free cancel, which allows you to freely cancel your melee attack on the opponent’s turn and “Hold” is when you want to continue your current action without selecting a new move, which means that you can resume without selecting any action (For people who don’t understand).

The three main characters, The Cowboy, The Wizard, and The Ninja, will have some special mechanics that they have in their actions.

The Wizard will have “Hover”, which is an ability that allows the character to move further if they’re far away. This mechanic helps if you’re 10 or 20 feet away from the opponent. A problem with Hover is that if you use an attack, there is a chance you either go forward or backward.

The Cowboy will have “Draw”, a signature revolver mechanic that only appears after you use an action.

The Ninja has a move called Sticky Bomb. Once you use the ability on your opponent, there will be ‘Detonate’, which allows you to activate the bomb immediately.

The first time you try a Multiplayer battle in Y.O.M.I Hustle, you will either achieve victory or fall down on the wrong path. Sometimes, you just have to motivate yourself and practice day by day, predicting the opponent’s movement, deflecting whatever they do, and trying to succeed.

Even though there won’t be any official updates or a sequel in the future, there are some mods for you to download, such as anime characters, stages, move sets, Moonwalker (Michael Jackson), and many others. These mods are available on Steam Workshop:YOMI Hustle Mods.
